Ticos Air

Ticos Air is a Costa Rican airline founded in December 2012 which was planned to begin operation in the first quarter of 2014.〔(Ticos Air busca llenar más de 100 vacantes para empezar a operar en primer trimestre del 2014 ) El Financiero, 2013-09-17. 〕〔(New Costa Rican airline, Ticos Air, now hiring ) Tico Times, 2013-09-18.〕 It will operate five Airbus A319 aircraft, initially, and its inaugural destinations are Mexico City, Caracas, Miami, and New York with ambitions to travel to South America, Europe, and Asia.〔 Documentation to obtain an air operating certificate was submitted to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation in Costa Rica in September 2013.〔〔(Costa Rican start-up Ticos Air to launch in December ) Flight Global, 2013-09-13.〕
It was reported in February 2014 that the company might be struggling to secure investment and its launch was possibly losing momentum. The airline headquarters is in Santa Ana and they have hired 22 employees including pilots, administrative personnel, and operations managers.
